The U14 Gold Boys will be traveling to Spain during the week of August 7th-August 17th. The team, coached by Jeff Lewis, will be joining them along with many of the players parents and siblings.
They will be staying at the Spanish National Team Training Center (City of Futbol) in Las Rosas, Spain, where the Spanish National team lived prior to heading to the World Cup. Pictures are below of the training complex and the living arrangements for the boys while in Madrid.
The boys will be in Madrid for 5 days, then travel to the North of Spain to the beautiful coast town of San Sebastian; they will stay at the Real Sociedad facility (they are play in La Liga where Barcelona and Real Madrid play)
Here is a rough itinerary for the players:
August 7th: Depart Raleigh to Madrid
August 8th: Check-in to facility and light training session at night
August 9th: Morning training (with Spanish Professional Coach); Visit Bernabeau Stadium (Real Madrid’s Stadium; tour the City of Madrid; Watch La Liga Game (pre-season)
August 10th: Morning training (with Spanish Professional Coach); Game vs. Spanish team
August 11th: Morning training (with Spanish Professional Coach); Tour World Heritage City of Toledo
August 12th: Travel to San Sebastion; Training Session in evening (with Spanish Professional Coach); Watch La Liga game (pre-season)
August 13th: Morning Training session; game vs. Spanish team in evening
August 14th: Morning Training session; game vs. Spanish team in evening
August 15th: Travel to City of Biarritz (France)
August 16th: Last minute shopping in San Sebastian; travel back to Madrid; spend evening in City of Madrid
August 17th: Travel back to Raleigh/Durham Airport
